Dear Official:

Greetings and Welcome to the 2026 season.  Your Board will continue to hold meetings in preparation for the upcoming season.

REGISTRATION FORM: The Registration Form is posted on the Unit’s website (www.lbfoa.org) and can be automatically completed and submitted through the website.  All members must complete a new Registration Form (See Below).

MEMBERSHIP DUES:  For 2026, the basic Dues for ‘veteran officials’ is $150.   Dues are $100 for returning officials who want to work only Flag games.  Payment is due by 5/31/2026 (postmarked).

For 1st Year (‘Rookie’) officials, working Girls’ Flag and/or Boys’ Tackle football, the Dues for 2026 will be $100.

LATE FEE: If paid on 6/01/2026 or later, Dues for ‘veteran’ officials will be $175 ($25 ‘late fee’).  There is no ‘late fee’ for 1st Year officials.

DUES: Checks or Money Orders should be made out to: CFOA, Long Beach Unit and mailed to: KEN AY, 5058 Premiere Ave., Lakewood, CA 90712.

You can also pay your Dues by Cash or through the Unit’s VENMO account:

CREW MEMBER DUES: If an official is a member of a Long Beach crew, that official must pay their Dues by 6/30/2026 (postmarked).  If not, that official is removed from their crew.

MANDATORY CIF OFFICIAL REGISTRATION:  Beginning June 1, 2026, all CIF High School sports officials are required to be registered with the CIF State Office.  The annual registration fee is $29.00 per official.  The fee covers all sports you officiate during the school year.  The fee includes liability and limited medical insurance.  To officiate games officials are required to complete a background check.  You must also pass a certification test for each sport you officiate.  Eligibility is connected to Arbiter. Therefore, anyone who is not registered or does not meet the requirements will not be eligible to officiate CIF HS games.

To Register, go to the State Registration site at: CIF OFFICIALS REGISTRATION, Click on the Registration Tab, and follow the instructions.

Complete this requirement AFTER June 1, 2026.  ALL LBFOA members are required to Register by June 30, 2026.  Failure to register will result in NO game assignments for the upcoming season.

ASSIGNMENT FEES: For Tackle Football, the assignment fees are $7.00 per Varsity game and $5.00 per non-Varsity game (i.e. Frosh; JV).  For Flag Football, the assignment fees will be $6.00 per game, regardless of level.  The $6.00 fee will include $5.00 to the Assignor and $1.00 back to the Unit to help offset the administrative costs associated with the Flag program.

INSTRUCTIONAL MEETING DATES:  The Board has established the following meeting dates for the 2026 season: 7/21 (BBQ), plus General Meetings on 8/04; 8/18; 9/01; 9/15; 9/29; 10/13; and 10/20 (possible Make-up Meeting).  Unless otherwise announced, all meetings will be held at St. John Bosco HS, Bellflower, CA.
